Almost Falling Over In Our Chairs
You know that feeling when you lean back in your chair a little bit too far, and you almost fall over, but then you triumphantly catch yourself? It’s comparable to the “just-had-a-great-idea-in-the-middle-of-the-night-and-wrote-it-down-and-can-fall-asleep-satisfied” feeling mixed with the “on-a-cross-country-flight-in-the-aisle-seat-of-the-emergency-row-by-yourself” feeling.
A close save, a great idea, or a lucky break just happened (or all three) and you can tell it’s starting to pay off. You’re ahead of the game. You found a chink in the armor. You’re going places. Confident. Energized. Ready.
That’s how Sunday felt at Three Ships Media, purely by virtue of a phenomenal, marathon team effort.
Bringing folks in town from New York and Washington, DC, we hosted an all-day meeting in Raleigh on Sunday with our core leadership team and advisory board. (And yes, it was during the Panthers game. Dedication…)
The results were very positive.
Strategic marketing plans and content creation break-out sessions were the order of the day as we steamrolled towards cementing a comprehensive value proposition and a plan for the upcoming months of growth and promotion.
Without divulging too many details (although this is social media so proprietary info has gone the way of the VHS) we’ve laid the groundwork for a new research arm that will specialize in providing resources and research to those folks in the real world interested in cutting their teeth on social media. The expert team we’ve put together to head that operation represent a DC-to-Raleigh brain trust and we are psyched to see what they come up with.
At the end of the day, we came up with more questions than answers. But at this point, that’s the point.
Long story short, the Three Ships Media start-up engine is undergoing a series of changes that are simultaneously exciting, confusing, and a little overwhelming – kind of like Kevin Arnold in the Wonder Years.
We hope everyone will continue to join us for the long voyage ahead. And get ready to fall out of your chairs.
Or catch yourself before you do.
