Friday FaceOff: Round 3, SMBs Succeeding with Social Media

by admin on November 20, 2009

It’s Friday again, and time for the 3Ships team to debate another social media topic.  Last week, we looked at corporate social media campaigns, and put forth our opinions about why Starbucks, Taylor Guitars, Vitamin Water and Ticketmaster deserved mention among the best business social media deployments we’ve observed.

Granted, the budgets these multimillion dollar companies can put toward their social media presence makes development of community a little easier.  Name brand recognition also helps drive people to the Facebook pages and tweets of the companies we profiled this week.

But how do you make a social media campaign work on a budget?  This week, our Friday FaceOff session deals with Small Business social media usage.  We’ll be rolling out our choices for the best small business (50 employees or less) social media outreach program throughout the day.

Matt Bales:  Naked Pizza

Pat Morrell:  DSI Comedy Theater

Pete Wylie:  Capital Ford – Raleigh

Caroline Williams:  The Republic Bar and Grill

What small business have you observed doing a bang-up job of joining the conversation?  Let us know in the comments below, or send us tweets arguing your case for a deserving small business.  Enjoy, and Happy Friday!
