SEM Specialist

The SEM Specialist will work with the SEO Specialist and the VP of Conversion at Three Ships Media to develop and implement the right mix of earned, paid, and owned media in managing our client accounts. We’re seeking an individual with strong quantitative ability who has the intellectual firepower to quickly drive business decision-making on the basis of data. The SEM Specialist will be a client-facing role with strong senior presence and the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Build out our PPC, social network advertising, email campaign and display advertising functions.
Create, assess and grow numerous paid campaigns across multiple platforms.
Use Web analytics to shape the optimal mix of earned/paid/owned media on client accounts.
Assess third party-vendors and develop requirements and specifications for TSM technology needs.
Possess customer empathy, internalize customer needs, and propose product solutions which address them.
Develop new ads, testing and optimizing keywords, ad text, and landing pages.
Ability to manage self and others in a multi-client environment.
Scrappiness. We look for hustle and ingenuity to get things done. Strong organization, multitasking, and time management skills are a must.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree required, Graduate degree preferred.
Minimum 3 years experience in SEM-focused role.
Experience owning SEM responsibilities at a site that derives its revenue through consumer traffic.
Experience with paid search keyword research, campaign construction, daily optimization, test plan construction, and in-depth analysis.
Experienced in creating and presenting campaign reports including ROI, conversion rates, etc.
Google Adwords and Analytics Certification, strongly preferred.
Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Experience managing large paid campaigns.
A quantitative approach to traffic measurement, and experience with collecting and interpreting site visitor and conversion statistics (Webposition, WebTrends, Google Analytics, etc.).
Research skills to identify, build, and prioritize essential keyword sets.
Effective wordsmithing skills for authoring effective ad texts.
Excellent writing & communication skills
Project management experience.
Ability to communicate and work effectively with others.
Ability to self-manage and keep track of multiple projects.
