Director of Business Development
The Director of Business Development is responsible for developing and obtaining new clients. The Director of Business Development will report directly to the Vice President Sales and is responsible for the development and performance of all sales activities in assigned market.
Responsibilities
- Establish strategies to expand the customer base within the territory
- Initiate the sales process by prospecting within target market, building relationships, qualifyingpotential business opportunities, and scheduling appointments
- Direct prospecting activities that include cold calling, email campaigns, and client referrals
- Develop sales by making initial presentation, explaining the value proposition of the serviceoffering, and closes sales by overcoming objections
- Contribute information to sales strategies by evaluating current product results, identifying needs tobe filled, and relaying customer reactions
- Develop and maintain excellent relationships with both clients as well as business partners
- Keep abreast of market developments and identify and researching new growth areas for sales
- Participate effectively as an individual contributor within a multifaceted environment
- Consistently deliver new revenue per the Three Ships Media compensation and quota retirement plan
- Ensure that all sales administration is completed to a high standard and in a timely manner
- Provide accurate and regular reports to the senior management team of sales activities, procedures and performance

Qualifications
- The individual we are seeking will have 8 – 10 years experience in sales or business development
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business, or related field, or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience and understanding of digital marketing strategies
- Proven track record meeting goals
- Conversant in social media and blogging
- Familiar with online marketing strategies, writing for the Web, concepts of website analytics and reporting
- Proficient in all Microsoft Office platforms
